Ultimate Wedding Coverage

This is crucial in order to get quality wedding photographs. Although ‘reportage’ photojournalistic photographs are meant to be seen as a record of how the events unfold, without planning and allocating time and locations for these shots to take place, the quality of your images will be in jeopardy. The most important factor in being able to take great photographs is light and with weddings, natural daylight is the best source of light for great photographs. A really sunny day however is not what the photographer will order. A slightly cloudy day in high summer is ideal as this doesn’t lead to harsh shadows and squinting. During winter months and when the sun is not available for as long, we may have to consider shots indoors and although we have a mobile studio and studio lighting, these staged photos are not what people ideally want at their wedding. Therefore during the winter low season months it is critical to work out timings for getting shots done during the daylight hours.

Weddings are fundamentally an enjoyable celebration and the photography should not be the boring part where you and your guests have to wait around while all those ‘group’ shots get organised. However, balancing those group shots with more contemporary and fun staged photos and reportage photographs is something that is not solely the photographers’ responsibility. Having the assistance of the best man and ushers always makes for these group shots to run smoothly and take as little time as possible, on average around 3 minutes per group shot. Therefore if you want around 15/20 group shots that is going to take up an hour of your time after the ceremony. In our experience we get best results when we work with you to pre determine around 10-15 group shots that are listed with who should be in what, around 30 minutes with just the two of you after the ceremony and around at least an hour to undertake all the contemporary and reportage shots of you and your guests.
